Reporting to the Director of NICU, the Nurse Manager Neonatal ICU will help manage the 40+ bed Level 3 NICU, alongside specialized managers, educators. This Level 3 NICU serves as the referral hub for the healthcare organization, and is fully equipt to care for high-risk, premature, and critically ill newborns. The NICU department is designed to provide a welcoming, family-centered environment; offering large private and semi-private rooms that offer enough space for staff, babies, mothers, and families to comfortably enjoy. The department also offers ongoing educational programming for parents, advanced technology that allows parents to monitor their newborns when they are unable to be bedside, and 24/7 support from the neonatologists, specialized nurses, and several other clinical and ancillary staff.
Responsibilities of the Nurse Manager Neonatal ICU include managing the budget, department staffing (screening, interviewing, hiring, and scheduling), preparing accreditation and survey material, ensuring state and federal regulatory compliance, updating policy procedures, developing educational curriculum, and cross collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Ideally, the Nurse Manager Neonatal ICU will have a clinical background working in a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and prior leadership experience.
